Irina Fedishina was born and raised in the Ukraine, in the former Soviet Union. In 1991 she moved to the United States and lives in California, with her husband and daughter. One day in 1996 she was seized with a serious desire to paint. With no formal training she started, and has been developing since. Her style is based on the “Old Masters” technique of glazing. By applying 6 to 7 transparent layers of oil paint a heightened sense of depth is achieved. It is a slow and laborious process which takes several weeks for each painting.

One of her paintings is in the royal collection of the Queen of England.
